GOSFORD MAN ATTACKS TWO POLICE OFFICERS DURING ARREST

Two police officers have been taken to hospital after an intoxicated man attacked them while being arrested in Gosford.

Police were called to John Whiteway Drive after the 47-year-old man was acting aggressively towards the public just after 2am.

Officers approached the man and while attempting to arrest him were punched in the face and head.

One officer suffered a suspected fractured eye socket, the other suffered a shoulder injury.

The 47-year-old was eventually placed under arrest and taken to Gosford Hospital for assessment.

He’s likely to be charged.
