WOMAN FRONTS COURT ACCUSED OF SETTING AN AGGRESSIVE DOG LOOSE

A 34 year old woman faced court today, accused of intimidating a police officer before setting an aggressive dog loose.

Police were responding to a domestic violence incident at a West Kempsey home, when it’s alleged a woman armed herself with a metal pole and began threatening an officer.

Officers say the woman released a dog which ended up biting an officer on the calf and thigh.

The officer sustained serious leg injuries and was taken to Kempsey Base Hospital for treatment.

The woman was granted conditional bail with the matter adjourned to April 28 for sentencing.
