A domestic violence intervention at Windale has resulted in a senior constable being assaulted.
At around 7pm last night, officers attended a Wakool Street home and attempted to arrest a 25-year-old man.
The man lashed out, punching the officer in the right side of the face.
He continued to resist arrest before additional police stepped in and apprehended him.
Upon being placed in the police vehicle, the man spat at a sergeant and continued to resist arrest.
He was charged at Belmont Police Station and refused bail to appear at Belmont Local Court today.
