SOLI BAILEY, MIKEY McDONAGH AND CALLUM ROBSON COMPETE IN GREAT LAKES PRO

Byron Bay’s Soli Bailey had been dominating in the Great Lakes Pro on the Central Coast, but despite winning his first heat today, has been knocked out of competing in the quarterfinals.

Bailey opened his account with the highest wave score of the heat, but couldn’t back it up.

“It’s really awesome to put a jersey back on. I have been competing for so many years, it feels super natural and enjoying doing what I love doing. The waves are solid which is nice, bit of punch to it. Just having a bit of fun.”

Lennox Head’s Mikey McDonagh also put on a stellar performance, competing against Evans Head product Callum Robson in Heat 8 in round of 32 today.

Robson was knocked out in that round, and while McDonagh made it through to round of 16, he narrowly missed making the quarterfinals, going down against Cooper Davies.
