Wallsend locals have been rocked by a brazen shooting overnight.
Police say a single gunshot was fired into the front window of a family home, on Platt Street, just before 2am.
Three adults and three children were inside the property at the time, thankfully no one was injured.
Detectives and specialist forensic police are this morning combing the scene for clues.
