LLS OFFERING FREE PESTICIDE AS REGION EXPERIENCES LOCUST OUTBREAK

Local Land Services has had a busy few weeks helping north-west farmers to combat a locust outbreak.

A large number of landholders have reported sightings of swarms in the Moree, Goondiwindi and Warialda areas, causing concern for crops.

The organisation is providing free pesticide to farmers across the New England and North West, to help tackle the outbreak.

The Department of Primary Industries has also established a State Co-Ordination Centre, to provide advice and control measures.
