COMMUNITY GROUP TO PROTEST AGAINST FUTURE CAT CULLS AT STOCKTON

A cat caught up in the Port of Newcastle’s controversial cull at Stockton breakwall has been adopted, after being nursed back to health.

The Stray Cats Project has announced it will hold a rally next Thursday, to protest against any future culls.

“We don’t want it to go ahead again, they can’t be trusted to do a second cull after the first one. No, that just can’t happen.”- Rochelle Wood, Stray Cats Project Community Group.

The Port of Newcastle says all animal control activity is suspended while an investigation is underway, and that it’s not appropriate to comment until it’s complete.
