LIFELINE EXTENDS EXTRA HAND TO THOSE STRUGGLING AT CHRISTMAS

Lifeline New England is preparing to open its doors to an influx of clients over Christmas.

Professionals say that, while the festive season is a joyous occasion for many, it can be a painful time for others.

The service has recently extended its resources across the north-west, with a councillor now available in most towns.

“They might be away from family, they might’ve lost a loved one, they might be suffering extra financial pressures over Christmas, so, it might just be the Christmas period itself. Or, people might’ve been struggling over the entire year and this particular period is just intensifying the struggles they’ve been having.”

To access support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14.
