Businesses on the New South Wales and Queensland border are breathing a sigh of relief, with the border checkpoints to be removed from Tuesday.
Business New South Wales says the announcement has come at just the right time leading up to Christmas.
“Finding out the news one month out means they can actually plan for that Christmas trade and know they’ll be able to support as many people as possible coming into the region,” Business NSW Regional Manager, Jane Lavery, said.
They’re now looking forward to making traffic congestion and long delays a thing of the past.
