ABORIGINAL TEENAGER’S BODY EXHUMED IN ARMIDALE

The body of Aboriginal teenager Lewis Buddy Kelly was exhumed in Armidale today, 37 years after his death.

The 16-year-old’s remains were found on a railway line near Kempsey in 1983.

An inquest found he had drunkenly wandered onto the track before he was hit by a train, but his family has long suspected foul play.

His remains will now be forensically examined.
