NEWCASTLE GROUP EMBARKS ON MARATHON FUNDRAISING CHALLENGE

A group of friends in the Hunter is raising thousands of dollars for several charities, by embarking on major fitness challenge.

Later this month Will Berry, Caleb Napier, Harry Falconer, and Grace Kerr will walk 100, 000 steps in a day to support the Black Dog Institute, Beyond Blue and Save the Children.

On November 21, the group will start the trek at Mayfield, head down to Belmont and back up again, taking more than 1 step a second for the whole day.

“I’m dedicating my journey to Save the Children, which supports the health and education of kids in need across Australia. As I’m studying teaching at University, it’s a cause quite close to my heart.” – Will Berry.

The group has collectively raised more than $3, 000 so far.

“Mental health is often an invisible poison in so many Australians lives. I have so many dear friends that have suffered more than they deserve, but their resilience has been an inspiration to me. That is why I have decided to take on this challenge and raise awareness around suicide and mental health. We are all on this journey together.“ – Caleb Napier.
