BALLINA RSL SUB BRANCH TRYING TO FIND FAMILY OF PRIVATE JAMES O’DEA

Ballina’s RSL sub branch is calling on the community to help find the family of Private James O’Dea, who was executed by the Japanese Army in 1942.

Private O’Dea enlisted in the Ballina District around 1940 at the age of 20 and will be awarded a commendation for gallantry next month.

“We could probably still arrange that if any of those people were available maybe they could find their way to Sydney and be part of the ceremony,” William Thompson from Ballina RSL sub branch said.

Anyone with information should contact the sub branch by clicking here.
