SURVEY REVEALS SPIKE IN UNEMPLOYMENT RATES ACROSS TAMWORTH

The New England’s unemployment rate has spiked up 6.6 per cent.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics labour force survey for September estimates 9,600 North West people are currently without a job.

The results come as a blow for local women particularly, with just 54.7 per cent employed, compared to 61.6 percent of men.

The report also found it takes an average of six months for an individual to find employment in Tamworth.
