POLICE APPEAL FOR WITNESSES TO A HOME INVASION

Police are appealing for witnesses to a home invasion at West Kempsey earlier this month.

At around 8.30pm on October 1, a 33-year-old man heard a noise coming from the front door of his house.

When he went to investigate, three men forced their way into the home, causing him to fall to the ground.

Police have been told the man attempted to defend himself, but was overpowered and assaulted.

The group destroyed his mobile phone before fleeing.

The man suffered a foot injury and severe swelling and bruising to his face.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Investigators have released descriptions of the group:

  • the first man is described as possibly being of Caucasian appearance, 180 centimetres tall and aged around 30. He was wearing a black coloured T-shirt and khaki shorts.
  • the second man is described as Caucasian in appearance, in his late 20s, larger than the first man and wearing an orange-coloured T-shirt and shorts.
  • the third man is described as Caucasian in appearance, around 175 centimetres tall and aged in his mid-30s.
