MAN CHARGED WITH DRUG SUPPLY IN NORTH-WEST

A man has been charged with drug supply, after his car was stopped by police in the state’s north-east last month.

Just after 12.30am on September 23rd, officers pulled over a white Mitsubishi Pajero on the New England Highway at Timbumburi, near Tamworth.

After speaking with the driver, they searched his vehicle, and allegedly found more than 10 grams of methylamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The methylamphetamine has an estimated potential street value of $10,500.

Just before midday yesterday, officers arrested a 29-year-old man at a home on Cole Road, Tamworth.

He was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with supply prohibited drug – indictable quantity and possess prohibited drug.

The man was given conditional bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court on November 2.
