POLICE SEARCHING FOR OCCUPANTS OF STOLEN VEHICLE IN HUNTER VALLEY

Police are searching for the occupants of a stolen vehicle, that crashed through a fence at Branxton overnight.

Police were called to Bridge street, after reports of suspicious activity and found a man standing next to a Holden utility.

Checks revealed the vehicle had been stolen from a house at Singleton.

As police approached, the vehicle drove off along Russell Street and down Railway Street.

A pursuit was initiated but was terminated shortly after due to safety concerns.

Police later located the utility abandoned and on its side in a paddock near Standen and Corinda Drives, after hitting a fence.

A crime scene was established, with a number of items seized, now undergoing forensic examination.
