BALLINA’S HOT MEAL CENTRE RE-OPENS THANKS TO GENEROUS DONATION

Ballina’s Hot Meal Centre has re-opened its doors to disadvantaged locals after the pandemic shut the kitchen back in March.

Patrons will be able to enjoy a drink and hot meal thanks to a $75,000 donation by the Cherry Street Sports Club, which will see the non-for-profit through for the next three years.

“It’s a wonderful community facility and most importantly it helps so many people who are disadvantaged in our society at the moment particularly under COVID,” President of the Ballina Hot Meal Centre, Colin Lee, said.

“Our thought process has always been to improve the community we live in and what better way to do it to get something like this back up and operational,” General Manager of the Cherry Street Sports Club, Tere Sheehan, added.

The Swift Street centre is open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 11am until 1pm.
