VENUES AND A HOUSEHOLD FINED OVER COVID-19 BREACHES

A household and several venues in the Northern Rivers have been fined over COVID-19 safety breaches on the weekend.

Friday night saw police warn a Coraki pub for not having a safety marshall, and fine a Lennox Head venue for not enforcing social distancing.

Then on Sunday night, police were called to a house party at Brunswick Heads and arrived to find around 100 people dancing.

Police only managed to stop 3 of the attendees – issuing them with $1000 fines.
