A delivery north was cut short near Taree last night, when a truck loaded with timber caught alight on the Pacific Highway.
Emergency crews were called to Jones Island around 9:30, working to extinguish the blaze at the rear of the vehicle.
The driver had disconnected the prime mover from the trailer, which was severely damaged along with most of the timber load.
Thankfully, no one was injured.
