RESOURCES REGULATOR ACCUSES NARRABRI COAL OF BREACHING MINING LAWS

The New South Wales Resources Regulator has accused Narrabri Coal of breaching state mining laws.

The charges against the coal giant relate to the alleged construction of unauthorised tracks, failure to rehabilitate drill sites and drilling bore holes without approval – with each offence carrying a maximum $1.1-million penalty.

The matters are set for mention in the New South Wales Land and Environment court on September 18.
