A driver has died after crashing into a tree on the far north coast, his car catching fire.
Emergency services were called to Iluka Road at The Freshwater, north of Yamba, just before 2pm.
By the time they arrived, the vehicle was well alight.
Police have been told the driver was travelling west at the time of the crash.
The body is yet to be formally identified.
