CYCLOCROSS STARS TO COMPETE ON COAST

The sport of Cyclocross returns to Matcham on Sunday.

Competitors will include Lincoln Hey, one of the country’s best juniors, and Erik Vetisch, who was due to compete in this year’s under-17 World Championships.

Last year’s winner and runner-up Nick Smith and Chris Aiken will both return to tackle the 2.8 kilometre course.

In the Women’s Elite, Novacastrian Laura Renshaw will make her debut in the sport….her brother Mark rode in the Tour De France.

The first race is at 9am.
