JOBKEEPER PAYMENTS TO BE REDUCED

The JobKeeper flat rate payment after September will be reduced from $1500 a fortnight to $1200.

There will also be a lower payment of $750 a fortnight for those working less than 20 hours a week.

For the March quarter, these figures will be revised down to $1000 a fortnight for those working more than 20 hours a week and $650 for those working less than 20 hours a week.

It’s part of changes announced by Prime Minister Scott Morrison this morning, with the JobKeeper program to continue until March next year.

“JobKeeper is doing its job and will continue to do its job,” Mr Morrison said.

After September 27, the coronavirus supplement for those on the JobSeeker program will fall to $250, and will run out until the end of 2020.

The income free threshold – which determines if one can access JobSeeker payments – will be increased to $300 a week.
