A 12-year-old boy is facing court after allegedly waving around a fake gun while sitting in a car at traffic lights in Tamworth.
Concerned onlookers called police around 9:15am on Friday, saying a boy was waving around a pistol in a white Holden Commodore at a set of traffic lights at the intersection of Bridge Street and Goonoo Goonoo Road.
Officers attached to Oxley Police District’s Bicycle Patrol Unit were patrolling the Tamworth CBD about 10am, when they stopped the Commodore on Peel Street.
Police spoke to the young boy and he handed over a replica Glock pistol.
He was bail refused to appear at a children’s court today.
