PAIR CHARGED WITH ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTING POLICE

A man and woman have been charged over allegedly assaulting two police officers at Dubbo last night.

Police were called to a home on Palmer Street just after midnight, after reports of a domestic altercation.

When they arrived, officers ran to assist a woman in a struggle with a man outside the home.

As the officers attempted to arrest the man, he allegedly struggled with them before threatening and punching a leading senior constable in the head.

The woman then allegedly punched both officers in the head before running away.

The man was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station, and the woman was later found hiding in a nearby yard.

It’s alleged she jumped a fence, before striking an officer on the hand with a large tool.

She was sprayed with OC spray, before being arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station.

The two were charged with a string of offences.

The man was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court today, while the woman will appear at Dubbo Local Court on August 26.
