LICENSED VENUES TO OPERATE WITHOUT SET CAPACITY LIMIT NEXT MONTH

The state Government has announced the 50-person limit on licensed venues will be lifted across New South Wales next month.

From July 1, pubs and restaurants across the Hunter won’t have to operate under a state-wide set capacity limit, but must allow for the one person per four square metre rule.

Outdoor venues with a capacity of up to 40,000 people can seat a quarter of that.

The New South Wales Government says nightclubs and music festivals could start back up as early as August if local transmission rates remain low.
