Murrurundi’s multi-million dollar hospital redevelopment has reached a milestone this week, with the site’s concrete foundations now laid.
The new hospital will include an inpatient service, 24-hour emergency department, ambulance facilities and staff acccommodation.
Once all services are moved across to the new building, the current hospital will be demolished.
“It’s a project well in excess of $10-million that we committed to a little while back, and it’s gone through a long planning stage, a consultation stage also with the community. We’re well and truly underway now.”
The new hospital is scheduled for completion by late 2021.
