INVERELL SALEYARD UPGRADE NEARING FINAL STAGES OF COMPLETION

Inverell’s $2.5-million saleyard upgrade is nearing its final stages of completion.

In 12 months, construction has wrapped up on a new roof and agent office.

312 new selling pens and 34 holding pens, with auctioneer walkways, are also complete.

Construction work has now started on track access, driver amenities and truck wash facilities.

“We have to keep our regional economies going and the investment in the livestock exchange in Inverell does precisely that. Hopefully we can move the total sales in Inverell per year to about $110-million, just through this venue alone.”

The upgrades are hoped to secure the future of livestock operations in the area.
