GAV’S WEATHER | EAST COAST LOW CONTINUES

There is plenty going on around the nation, as we begin to enter a wetter than normal period for winter 2020.

In the east, the big, wet weather system has cleared, but is a strong feature driving in more strong winds, heavy rain and icy cold temperatures from the Central Coast to Port Macquarie, and inland to the Upper Hunter.

The synoptic chart is busy as well; in the east, the occluded front will move away.

The complex low will retrogress further, meaning that it will move back towards the coast.

Maintaining the big swell, strong winds and cold, wet weather for the areas in between Gosford and Coffs.

The big system in the west will weaken as it moves inland to central Australia.

Another day of cold southerly winds; inland across the north-west it will remain partly cloudy but fine.

For coastal areas in between Gosford and Coffs, the strong southerly winds, huge swell, squally showers and cold, cloudy skies will continue.

It will be fine north of Coffs to south-east Queensland.
