NEW DRIVE-THROUGH COVID-19 CLINIC OPENS

Laverty Pathology opened a drive-through COVID-19 testing clinic at Lake Macquarie earlier today.

The facility opened at Club Macquarie in Argenton, and will be available for the public to use 6 days a week.

Laverty General Manager Matthew Brumby says the clinic will be instrumental in supporting the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.

“We are opening these drive-through clinics in response to the Federal and State governments’ desire for an expansion of COVID-19 testing to make it easier for more people to be tested as lockdown restrictions begin to ease and business and community activity begins to return.”

Any patient is able to use the service, as they stay in their car while a swab is taken.

No appointment is necessary, but a pathology request form is needed from a doctor.

Any patient who tests positive will be contacted by the GP referring them to the clinic within around 24 hours.
