THREE MEN CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF CHILD-LIKE SEX DOLLS

Police have charged three men, two of them from Grafton, over the possession of sex dolls resembling children.

A multi-agency team comprised of Australian Federal Police officers, Border Force agents and NSW Police was set up to investigate, after dolls were intercepted on three separate occasions in March and April.

On Thursday this week, officers searched two homes – one north of Sydney, the other in Grafton.

A 62-year-old Grafton man was arrested and charged with importing a child-like sex doll from China.

Police will allege in court they found two dolls dressed in children’s clothing, as well other children’s clothing items at the property.

He was refused bail and appeared in Lismore Local Court by video link yesterday.

A 42-year-old Sydney man was also arrested at his home in Turramurra after investigators allegedly found a sex doll designed to look like a young child imported from Japan, and a second doll inside the property.

In a third operation on Friday, a 37-year-old man was arrested in Grafton, charged with possession of a child-like sex doll, importing goods without approval and possessing child abuse material.

He appeared in Lismore Local Court on Saturday.

Police do not believe there’s any connection between the three men, but each faces a potential 15 years in jail if convicted.
