GAV’S WEATHER | CLEAR, COLD START TO MAY

The cloudiest place in the nation is the south-east as the first significant cold outbreak of the season continues to steam roll Victoria and southern New South Wales.

The remainder of the country is largely cloud free.

The low is still looking very impressive.

It will now begin to move into the southern Tasman and generate a new swell to hit the coast over the weekend.

The cold, dry, south-westerly winds will continue producing some extremely cold nights and clear, cool days with 100% sunshine.

Extremely cold tonight and tomorrow morning as the icy south-westerly winds continue.

Clear blue skies will dominate the weekend helping to warm the early afternoon period.
