MOTORCYCLIST FIGHTS FOR HIS LIFE AFTER CENTRAL COAST CRASH

A man is in a critical condition at John Hunter Hospital following a motorcycle crash on the Central Coast overnight.

Police believe the 20-year-old motorcyclist lost control and was thrown from his bike, while ridding along Tramway Road at North Avoca.

Passersby called emergency services around 10:30pm on Friday.

Officers from Brisbane Water Police District arrived and found the man seriously injured, lying on the road.

The man was treated by paramedics at the scene, before being airlifted by a Westpac Rescue Helicopter to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.

He was ridding a Yamaha R6.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway.
