Lake Macquarie Police says crime in Cardiff has dropped significantly over the last 18 months.
Street offences are down by more than 80 per cent, and stealing offences are down by more than 60 per cent, thanks to a collaborative effort driven by Community Activities Lake Macquarie.
Member for Lake Macquarie Greg Piper says it’s been a fantastic effort from everyone involved in the initiative.
“The state government provided $185,000 to help fund the CALM lead program in June 2018, which saw Lake Macquarie businesses, community groups, police come together to provide opportunities for positive social cohesion to young people identified at risk of entering the juvenile justice system.”
