HEALTH DISTRICT HOPING TO STOP POTENTIAL CLUSTER IN EAST LAKE MACQUARIE

Three COVID-19 cases – with an unknown source of infection – have been identified at eastern Lake Macquarie.

It’s prompted calls for residents in the area, with flu-like symptoms, to be tested… and stop a potential cluster.

“This can be done at the belmont hospital drive through clinic but it’s important to call before hand and that clinic is open and free of charge.”

The District is focusing on testing residents from Valentine, Belmont, Mount Hutton, Windale and Croudace Bay.

Meanwhile, three more people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in the Hunter New England Health district, bringing the total confirmed cases to 248.

11 patients are being cared for in hospitals, including five in ICU.
