NEW LAMBTON MAN ALLEGEDLY FOUND CARRYING 8 BAGS OF METHYLAMPHETAMINE

A man has been charged with supplying prohibited drugs, after police allegedly found him with more than 10 grams of methylamphetamine overnight at New Lambton.

Just before midnight, police say they saw the man pushing a bicycle along Peters Avenue, while behaving suspiciously.

When searching the 29-year-old, officers allegedly uncovered eight bags of methylamphetamine, a knife and two driver’s licenses, thought to be stolen.

He was taken to Waratah Police Station where he was charged with three offences, including supplying prohibited drugs, being in custody of a knife in a public place and stealing.

The man, who was on parole until June, was refused bail and will appear at Newcastle Local Court today.
