FURTHER 25 CORONAVIRUS CASES DIAGNOSED IN HUNTER NEW ENGLAND

A further 25 cases of Covid-19 have been diagnosed across the Hunter New England Health district in the past 24 hours, bringing the region’s total number of cases to 72.

47 cases are believed to have been contracted the virus while overseas.

17 of the cases were locally acquired.

“Now is the time that we all need to pay particular attention to social distancing, we need to stand back, we need to keep our colds and our coughs at home, we need to make sure that we’re not touching other people’s hands, all of Hunter New England needs to work together to stop the spread of this virus.”

Hunter New England Health is asking close contacts of new cases to self-isolate for 14 days.
