An unconscious swimmer has been pulled from the water at Clare’s Beach in Byron Bay this afternoon.
The man was swimming outside of the flags when he suffered a head injury.
Lifesavers started CPR and the 59-year-old regained consciousness.
He has been airlifted to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandria Hospital in a critical condition.
