CANCELLATIONS AND CLOSURES

The following events/gatherings have been cancelled/suspended until further notice due to the spread of COVID -19. If you have any cancellations, please notify us at NBN News or use our contact form at the bottom of the page.

ANZAC gatherings, 25th April. A nationally televised ANZAC Day ceremony will be broadcast from the Australian War memorial.

PORT MACQUARIE

The Wauchope Blaze Aid Camp has been temporarily stood down from midnight 23 March for 14 days until April 6.

TAMWORTH

Tamworth Bridge Club, all meetings going forward from 19th March.

NORTHERN RIVERS

Splendour in the Grass, postponed to October 23-25 in North Byron Parklands.

Bluesfest, cancelled for 2020 will return next year.

Lismore Lanterns,postponed to early November.

Norco Primex Field Days, postponed to August 6-8.

Casino Beef Week, postponed to September.

Nimbin MardiGrass, postponed date yet to be confirmed.

Byron Bay Disabled Surfing, March 21 event has been cancelled.


Pubs, restaurants + places

NEWCASTLE/LOWER HUNTER

Public pools run by Newcastle City Council will be closed from Monday 23rd March. Beresfield Swimming Centre, Lambton, Mayfield, Stockton and Wallsend Swimming Centres, operated by BlueFit Aquatics will be impacted.

Finnegan’s Hotel – will be temporarily pausing our operations effective 18 March 2020. Any one with a function booking will be able to postpone their function or receive a full refund. Urban Smoking Co will continue to operate on UberEats.

Argle House – closed until further notice.

Lizottes – closed for one month, subject to change.

LAKE MACQUARIE

From March 23, Council will close all four of its patrolled beaches, all six Swim Centres, all Council run Community Halls, the Museum of Art and Culture, Swansea Centre andVisitor Information Centre.

Reduced services will operate at Lake Mac Library branches across the City.

NORTHERN RIVERS

Palace Cinemas – closed until further notice.

The French Bench – closed permanently.

Tweed Regional Aquatic Centre – closed until further notice.

Revolve Shop (Lismore) – closed until further notice.

Friends of the Koala – tours cancelled until further notice.

Richmond Valley Libraries – closed for at least two weeks. Includes library branches in Lismore, Ballina, Byron and the Tweed.
