Woy Woy Hospital has confirmed asbestos has been found on the hospital’s grounds.
The material was discovered adjacent to a staff car park last week and the surrounding area has been isolated .
In a statement from the hospital a spokesperson says remediation works are currently being carried out, but risk to staff and the community is low.
The hospital could not confirm where the substance came from.
