PAROLE REVOKED FOR MILTON ORKOPOLOUS

Convicted child sex offender and former New South Wales Labor minister, Milton Orkopoulos, has had his parole revoked.

The 62-year-old former Member for Swansea was refused bail in court last week, charged with three counts of failing to comply with reporting conditions of the Child Protection Register.

It comes after he was released from Sydney’s Long Bay jail last year, after spending more than 11 years behind bars for child sex offences.

He’s since been arrested twice for breaches of parole, including failing to notify police he’d created an Instagram account.

In a statement, the State Parole Authority said, “The decision was made at a closed meeting this afternoon during which the SPA panel considered a breach report outlining outstanding charges against the offender.”

“The Authority revoked the order on the basis the offender had breached two conditions of his parole, namely that he ‘must not commit any offences’ and ‘must comply will all conditions and requirements of the Child Protection Register.'”
