FIRE BREAKS OUT IN A SWANSEA RESTAURANT

Emergency services were called to Swansea’s Mandarin Palace last night, after fire broke out and quickly spread through the two-storey building.

It’s believed the fire started in the downstairs restaurant at around 9.30pm.

Fire and Rescue NSW, police and ambulance crews arrived to find smoke billowing from the roof.

Four residents escaped unharmed, evacuating from the flats above.

Damage to the building was extensive, but firefighters had the blaze under control shortly before 1am.

The cause is being investigated.
