MAN CHARGED AFTER POLICE PURSUIT

A man will face court today on multiple charges following a police pursuit on the Central Coast.

At about 3:50pm yesterday (Friday 21 February 2020), a Toyota Corolla, alleged to be stolen, was seen by police driving along Bellbird Avenue, Terrigal.

A chase started before the driver allegedly rammed an unmarked police vehicle.
Due to safety concerns, the chase was ended.

Following investigations, police went to a unit on Campbell Crescent, Terrigal and found a 28-year-old man in the bathroom. After a short struggle, police placed the man under arrest.

He was taken to Gosford Police Station where he was charged with police pursuit, use offensive weapon to avoid apprehension, resist arrest, drive conveyance without consent of owner, never licensed person drive vehicle on road and use class A vehicle displaying misleading number-plate.

The man was bail refused to appear at Gosford Local Court today (Saturday 22 February 2020).
