$50, 000 DONATED TO LOCAL FIRE BRIGADES

Tomago Aluminium has dug deep for volunteer firefighters, today handing over a $50,000 cheque to local brigades.

The fundraising effort was sparked by employee and RFS volunteer, Mitchell Keen, who approached the company for a small donation to buy an ice machine.

Fellow workers soon chipped in, with the business matching dollar for dollar.

“It’s very humbling, I didn’t think it would snowball like this, it’s unbelievable.” – Mitchell Keen, RFS volunteer.

“This will make a huge difference to our brigade, for our members, being able to get that extra equipment to help them, even the little things like a fridge in the truck so they have cold water when they’re on the job” – Andrew Slade, Williamtown-Salt Ash RFS.

The funds will be split between four brigades.
