TAMWORTH COUNCIL PUT ORGANIC RECYCLING FACILITY UP FOR DEBATE

Tamworth Regional Council has also addressed its controversial application for an Organic Recycling Facility.

The $15 million dollar project has been in the planning phase since 2016, but has been met with criticism from people living near potential sites.

Tamworth councillors last night voted to bring the debate to the Joint Regional Planning Panel, who will consider the application at a meeting later this month.

“The second report was, if we get planning approval from the JRPP, seeking permission from Council to engage consultants to start preparing tender documentation for how we’re going to deliver that project.”

If the project receives the green light, Council want the job completed by mid 2021.
