More than 800 people withstood the heat at the Wardell Sports Ground this morning to farewell Bundjalung artist Albert “Digby” Moran.
Members of the community were invited to the public service and encouraged to wear the colours of Digby’s favourite NRL team – the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
“The legacy is great but as a family and a community we must continue to showcase his stories, celebrate his talent and honour the life of this great man,” Naomi Moran said.
Digby passed away in his Lismore home on January 13 – he was 71.
