URALLA COMMUNITY TO HOLD MEETING ON TUESDAY AS ARSENIC TREATMENT CONTINUES

Distressed Uralla residents will have the opportunity to speak on Tuesday night, as the town’s water supply continues to be treated for arsenic.

Uralla Shire Council issued a warning to residents just before Christmas, after elevated levels of the poison were detected.

A ‘no drinking’ alert has now been in place for a month.

Design modifications for the treatment plant are now underway for the installation of a Granular Activated Carbon filter.

Councillors will provide the public with a treatment update at Tuesday’s meeting.
