KOALA FOOD TREES POISONED IN GOONELLABAH

Lismore City Council is investigating the illegal poisoning of trees in a Goonellabah neighbourhood park.

Council says holes were drilled into the trunks of two trees and filled with poison.

“One’s a mature Tallowwood tree or Eucalyptus microcorys, which is a really important tree as a habitat tree for Koala’s, for our local Koala population.”

A fine of $3000 will be issued to the people responsible.
