Police believe a man’s body that was found in the water at Caves Beach yesterday could have been there for several hours before it was found.
It’s understood the man went for a swim earlier that day near the unpatrolled, northern end of the beach.
His personal belongings and vehicle were found at the beach after his body was recovered just after 3.30pm.
The man’s body was taken to a nearby boat ramp for forensic testing, and is yet to be formally identified.
