GUYRA PIPELINE MODIFIED AS MALPAS DAM LEVELS DROP
Residents in the north west are urged to conserve water more than ever, as Armidale Council makes modifications to the Guyra pipeline.
Pumps were initially installed to transport water to Guyra, but over the last few months the supply has become contaminated by silt due to low water levels.
It’s feared Malpas Dam could run dry by December this year if the region doesn’t receive any significant rain.
Reporter Lydia Bilton will have more, tonight at six.
#MalpasDam at 33%. It’s both #Guyra and #Armidale’s drinking supply. Without significant rain it could run dry by December this year. @nbnnews #Drought pic.twitter.com/d4TGwdJALZ
